As men we are often called to lead, to win, to be successful and to show no fear. This is a part of the deep masculine. It is a structural part of what constitutes manhood. We know clearly what courage is, what competition is and how exhilarating that can be. It is not, however, the totality of who we are.
In the Odyssey, Odysseus’ men are a group of the greatest mythic heroes of history. They engage deeply in the thrill of battle, victory and invincibility as well as the sense of loss, terror and hope through the course of their ten year journey home.
We thrive personally, professionally and socially when we acknowledge we are more than what we appear to be. This will necessarily include an openness to our emotional life, our wounds and our capacity to wound others. What the group will address in this workshop will be:
